The aim of WorkPackage 2 is to identify novel peroxisomal transporters and to analyze their function.

We will use:

• bioinformatics
• proteomics approaches using purified peroxisomal membrane fractions
• proteomic analyses on affinity-purified complexes of Pex19, the receptor for peroxisomal membrane proteins
• in vivo screens to identify proteins that have the capacity to transport various molecules across peroxisomal membranes
